LA Pipedream: Chinatown

A journey of water from Beatie Wolfe

Where does our water really come from? And how might we revalue it if we knew? LA Pipedream follows the unnatural and improbable 419 mile journey that Los Angeles water takes to reach its city.

New for 2026, Beatie Wolfe will be previewing the first part of her Water trilogy, shot with nature cinematographer Grady Candler (of NatGeo, Discovery, and producer of "Baraka" final installment) to a soundtrack created with Wolfe's musical collaborator Brian Eno.

LA Pipedream (Chinatown) is part of a trilogy from Beatie Wolfe exploring California's water sources and disposal. Data sources include ESRI.
