LA Times NewStory curated by Beatie Wolfe announced

The renowned LA Times 'Festival of Books' (150, 000 attendees) will introduce a whole new component to the festival this year with the introduction of NewStory, guest-curated with acclaimed singer-songwriter and innovator Beatie Wolfe. Looking at forms of storytelling outside of the traditional scope, NewStory will celebrate the art of music for storytelling and explore the future of music through a lens of technology, design and art with today’s makers and thought leaders - from NASA and Nokia Bell Labs through to multi-platinum producers and songwriters.

Location: USC Campus, Los Angeles

Highlights include the Raw Space AR anechoic chamber pop-up with Nokia Bell Labs, NASA JPL's lead creative talking Space Art, Emmy-winning Donick Cary (The Simpsons, Parks and Recreation, Silicon Valley), Grammy/Emmy/Songwriters Hall of Fame winner Allee Willis, Elliott Smith/Beck music video director Ross Harris, award-winning production house The Mill and multi-platinum producers Kerry Brown (The Smashing Pumpkins) & Linda Perry (Gwen Stefani, Adele) in addition to premiere screenings, live performances, immersive AR/VR installations, music as medicine and a galactic whisper station.
