Brian Eno and Beatie Wolfe have announced their collaborative albums, ‘Luminal’ and ‘Lateral’, both set for release on June 6th, 2025, via Verve Records.
Alongside the announcement, the pair have unveiled two tracks: ‘Suddenly’ from ‘Luminal’ and ‘Big Empty Country (Edit)’ from ‘Lateral’, offering an early glimpse into the distinct sonic worlds they’ve created.
Their collaboration emerged organically through mutual work on environmental issues, including a joint SXSW talk selected as one of the festival’s best in 25 years, and evolved after a series of coinciding art exhibits in London.
“Music is about making feelings happen,” the duo explained in a joint statement. “Some of those feelings are familiar, while others may not be – or may be complex mixtures of several different feelings.” They cite inspirations from culturally specific emotions such as duende, dor, gezelligheid, and mono no aware, illustrating how art and language can expand the emotional palette.
Recorded throughout 2024, the two albums reflect a deep artistic synergy, blending ambient atmospheres with abstract sonic explorations. ‘Luminal’ and ‘Lateral’ will be available in digital formats, CD, and limited eco-friendly color biovinyl.
