Pure Being

Pure Being by Beatie Wolfe

Release Date - May 5th 2017

He sat for hours but nothing came
Too few songs and too much fame
So he broke his guitar strings and threw his body to the earth
This was his grave if he couldn’t play

He remembered how it felt to have a woman’s kiss
With dope in his pocket and his heart in his fist
And it took someone to tell you, you can’t go on like that
And it took someone to tell you, this was not right

So he called up his friends and he wept goodbye
And he wove himself a noose out of rope and wire
But it was ok because he’d realised just in time
That his balloon could go no higher

And he looked at his hands as he fell to his knees
And he tried to pray but he couldn’t breath
And it took someone to tell you, this was your fate
And it took someone to tell you, you couldn’t be great

Now the rain falls on the floor like tears in June
And it’s washing off the blood like tears in June

As the dawn broke it lit up his face
And there he lay in all of his grace
And the crows were silent, because his body was the earth
And they took flight for another case
And when everybody heard, they ran to see the man
who was rotting in spite of his faith

Now the rain falls on the floor like tears in June
And it’s washing off the blood like tears in June
And it’s beating on the ground like tears in June
And it’s drowning out the sound like tears in June

Now the rain falls on the floor like tears in June

Raw Space

The Third Album from Beatie Wolfe

Release Date - May 5th 2017

Beatie Wolfe's third album Raw Space was released as the world's first live 360˚ AR album stream from the quietest room on earth, the Bell Labs anechoic chamber. This enhanced streaming format was pioneered by Wolfe as a way of recapturing some of the old-school magic of music, and celebrating the album's artwork and story in the listening process. The music of Raw Space has been described as "raw, honest" yet "deceptively complex" with the opening track, 'Little Moth', written in tribute to Elliott Smith.

Need Somebody

Need Somebody by Beatie Wolfe

Release Date - Nov 8th 2015

When I grow up know that I'll make my own mistakes
And if I slip up please be the rock that doesn't shake
Don't you know we need somebody, just somebody to take our hand
Don't you know we need somebody, somebody who will understand

When I grow old please stay by me as I fade
And if I grow cold please be the flame that holds the faith
Don't you know we need somebody, just somebody to take our hand
Don't you know we need somebody, somebody who will understand

Darling oh if I stray from the one that you love
Darling no I won't drift too far from your arms
Darling you bring me back to myself, to myself
Darling you're that someone who will make me go on

When I grow weak please lay by me as a friend
And if I can't speak know that I'll love you til the end
Don't you know that you're somebody:
My somebody who understands

Don't you know that you're somebody
Somebody now until the end

Darling oh if I stray from the one that you love
Darling no I won't drift too far from your arms
Darling you bring me back to myself, to myself
Darling you're that someone who will make me live on
Darling you're my someone who will make me live on

To Be Saved

To Be Saved by Beatie Wolfe

Release Date - Nov 8th 2015

A man runs a cafe
it started in the back
That day, that day

A girl of thirteen
worked to keep the kitchen clean
in the back of the cafe

He made her dress up well
because good looks can really sell
But don’t tell (don’t tell)

And he always liked to stare
while she tied up her hair
and say, and say:

We are all forgotten
We are all depraved
We are all imperfect
But we will all be saved

When her mother ran away
from the bills she had to pay
one day, one day

He took her to his flat
that was just behind the cafe
to stay, to stay

And sometimes he would be rough,
if she’d say that it’s enough
it’s tough, so tough

And his face full of love
with a voice from above
would say, would say:

We are all forgotten
We are all depraved
We are all imperfect
But we will all be saved

So the years went past
and she grew up fast -
they say, they say

And soon the guys from the cafe
started coming round the back
to play, to play

So she worked and she worked
and hid the money in the dirt
for a day - for what day?

But the bruises on her thighs
even dirt could not disguise
so she’d say, she’d say:

We are all forgotten
We are all depraved
We are all imperfect
But we will all be saved

She pulled up to work
with a barrel down her skirt
what a flirt, what a flirt!

And with her high heels on
she shot him in the back
Like that - like that

And when the men said, “Wow -
we didn’t think that you could do it.”
She just laughed

She said: “My whole goddamn life
was about shooting that bullet -
I had to do it, because:

We are all forgotten
We are all depraved
We are all imperfect
But we will not be saved

We are all forgotten
We are all depraved
We are all imperfect
But we will not be saved

Simply Friends

Simply Friends by Beatie Wolfe

Release Date - Nov 8th 2015

Remember when we were simply friends
sometimes more in my head, but now
here we are underneath these sheets -
something changed in between

Out for lunch we would let it spill
candid talk as we split the bill but now
here we are staring longingly -
something changed was it me?

I'll never forget how it felt to be your friend
and I'll never regret taking time to climb in bed with you

I know love is dangerous
when sprung too young or based on lust, but I
always knew from the start with us
we were made of deeper stuff

Darling you to me are something rare
a beauty inside that does not compare - Oh heart
do you fool me? No, you wouldn't dare!
This love is no affair

So I'll never forget how it felt to be your friend
and I'll never regret taking time to climb in bed
No I'll never forget when we were simply friends
and I'll never regret taking time for it to change
With you
